Many people flock to Ludington for its year-round recreational activities that include swimming, boating and fishing in Hamlin Lake and Lake Michigan as well as camping in the Ludington State Park, Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness Area and the Manistee National Forest. Then again, why rough it out in the wilderness when you can be comfortable in any one of these top three hotels in Ludington?

The beach and the downtown area are just minutes by foot so you have the opportunity to bask in the warm sunshine and get some retail therapy. Or if you want to go farther, you can always take the car to the state parks or take the ferry to cross Wisconsin.
Then again, why would you want to cross to Wisconsin when Ludington Michigan has its unique charms? Think restaurants, shopping areas and even miniature golf aside from the magnificent wildlife.
After your wanderings around town, you will be glad to come home to a well-kept hotel like the Pier House. The rooms are spacious with all the usual amenities. Also, there is an indoor pool and a hot tub to wash away your cares of the day.
The hotel for all seasons in Ludington, so to speak, is the Four Seasons Lodging & Breakfast. Although it provides only for the basic amenities of a big-sized bed and breakfast, the hotel more than makes up for it, thanks to the ultra-friendly but not nosey service provided by the hosts/owners. The breakfast offered bordered on the home-cooked meal, meaning it almost provided the comforts of home. Plus, the breakfast room itself was available at no extra charge for small meetings just as long as it was already after 10 AM.
The rooms were sufficiently spacious for the price, not to mention clean and comfortable, too. Similarly, the tiled bathroom was relatively small but surprisingly very clean. A bonus to staying at the Four Seasons is that there is a garden where you can relax and bask in the good weather. You may get a book in the library and read in the pleasant garden.
Yet another hotel located near the downtown area is the Holiday Inn Express. Whether you are in Ludington for business or for pleasure, guests find that it is conveniently located to the tourist areas as well as the business district.
For those coming to Ludington Michigan for recreational purposes, the Holiday Inn Express is a short drive to the Ludington State Park where boating, hiking and canoeing are just a few of the activities available. Or you can always hop on to the Historic White Pine Village for a trip back in time.
Going back to the Holiday Inn Express rooms, you will find that these are more than adequate for your needs especially where space, cleanliness and amenities are concerned. Plus, the large indoor pool and hot tub are also welcoming presence in the hotel.
There are many things to love with Ludington and its excellent hotels. Your choice in accommodations and activities will leave you coming back for more.
