Ann Arbor Artisan Market
Visitor Suggested Things to Do in Ann Arbor: I love being able to meet artists and crafters at the Sunday Artisan Market in Ann Arbor. There are all sorts of things to see and people to meet from photographers to jewelers, furniture makers to potters, soap makers to knitters, and much more. It's a veritable feast for the eyes, nose, and even the ears since they often have musical performers playing there.
The market has a friendly, casual atmosphere. I think of it as a small, intimate art fair every weekend starting in April and running through Christmas. It's fun to develop relationships with the artists, so people love going back week after week to see what new things everyone has made.
Since its on Sundays, all the parking in the area is free including the lot adjacent to the market. That makes it extra convenient. The market is located within one block of the famed Zingermans deli and several other eateries, so grabbing a bite to eat before or after is easy to do as well.
I highly recommend making a day of it with your family and friends. Visit the market, do some shopping, and meet a great bunch of highly talented people. The market is open from 11am to 4pm, Sundays starting in April. It's located at 315 Detroit St., right next to Kerrytown.
Hope to see you there!
