Things to Do in Marquette Submitted by Lee
When you visit the upper peninsula you have to stop in Marquette, Michigan. Some of the best things in life are free.
Whether in summer hiking or in winter cross-country skiing, be sure to stop by the Lakenenland Sculpture Park. It is on highway M-28, across from Shot Point Road. But all you need to do is look for the colorful sign that says, "Junkyard Art"! You will be amazed by the sculptures using scraps of farm equipment and other metal, painted colorfully to dazzle, amuse and just leave you thinking. And it is all along a beautiful nature path. Did I mention it is free.
After that, head on over to the Sweet Water Cafe located at 517 N 3RD St. in Marquette. They have both vegetarian and non-vegetarian items on the menu and everything you will order is tasty. The service is great, too.
As we say, come on to the UP and visit Marquette, Michigan for a great time.
